More than seventeen years in tech: ten when I didn't yet know how to be kind to myself, and seven learning to walk back toward myself.
My name is Mileine Tamie, and I go by Tamie here.
For a long time I lived on autopilot — in every area of my life. I delivered everything, met every deadline and everyone else’s expectations — and felt almost nothing. I believed that was part of adult life.
There came a moment when I realised how much I felt like a stranger in my own life. One day I woke up and hardly recognised anything as my own choice, and it was a great shock. Alongside psychotherapy, I began exploring integrative practices to deal with the emotions that were out of balance, as part of the process. At some point I went from being a client to also being a practitioner, applying Energy Alignment to myself and to other people.
Energy Alignment emerged in the middle of that path. First as a personal experience; then, little by little, as a practice I began to share. Not because the noise stopped — it is still there. But because I can hear myself inside it again.
We are integrated beings. Balance in one field carries into all the others.
Today I guide sessions for people who recognize themselves in places I’ve been too: a full head, a full calendar, and little room to hear themselves. The work is simple and asks nothing of you — only permission.
This was the year I started admitting to myself that I wasn't happy with the life I had built.
I barely recognized myself in almost any part of my life anymore, and burnout finally made me start paying attention to myself.
It was the beginning of an awakening.
After spending a long time trying to "fix myself" on my own, and realizing it wasn't working, I finally accepted professional support.
I learned not just how much it matters to have that kind of support, but something that had always been hard for me: how to ask for help, and how to actually receive it.
Therapy was putting me face to face with my own story — and with emotions that, at the time, felt like they were spilling over.
My therapist could see I needed some extra support for the anxiety I was dealing with, and suggested I try a few Integrative Practices as a complementary form of care.
That's how I found my way to Acupuncture and Bach Flower Remedies.
I was enchanted.
At the time, I was just looking for a little more support to get through what I was going through. I had no idea that recommendation would open a door that, a few years later, would also change the course of my career.
I made a career move within technology that I had dreamed about for years.
I landed the dream job, at the dream company. I thought that would be my happy ending.
It wasn't.
Getting what I had wanted so badly didn't resolve what still needed to be looked at inside me. If anything, it was the opposite — I realized I was only at the beginning of a much deeper process of personal transformation and healing.
That's when I sought out even more support in Integrative Practices — and started approaching them not just as a client, but as a learner too.
I took a number of different courses, at first just to understand and take better care of myself.
At the time, I still imagined I'd stay in technology for many more years. Maybe, I thought, in about 20 years I'd make another transition and become an acupuncturist.
This was the year of an important discovery about myself: I learned that my brain worked differently from how I had understood it my whole life.
That discovery also changed the way I saw some of my own traits and perceptions, and it felt like the right moment to start developing my intuition further — a personal choice, as part of learning to trust myself and my own way of perceiving the world.
That's when I threw myself even more into Integrative Practices.
In October, I discovered Dowsing — and fell in love with it.
I immersed myself in learning and practice. For the next several months, I dedicated more than two hours a day to it, practising both for myself and with other people while I was still taking the course.
What had started as another tool in my own journey quickly became a significant part of my life.
For the first time, I was also beginning to discover that something I had sought out to help myself could become a way of supporting someone else.
By the beginning of the year, I had been deeply immersed in Dowsing for several months.
Then, in February, I reached a point that made it very clear that I needed to turn much of that attention back toward myself.
For most of that year, my practice became quieter and more personal. I continued studying and practising Dowsing and working with radionic charts, but mostly as part of my own self-care, while occasionally practising with a few other people.
And somewhere in that quieter period, I began to understand something that would come to matter a great deal to me.
I was still rebuilding myself. I certainly didn't feel like someone who had everything figured out.
And yet, the experiences I had already had with other people showed me that I didn't need to have everything resolved inside me to be able to offer someone else something real.
It was also during 2024 that I had my first contact with Reiki. I didn't continue with the practice at the time, and my path remained mostly with Dowsing and radionic charts.
At the same time, little by little, something was also changing in my career. After everything that had been moving inside me since 2019, I was beginning to find a new way of being in technology.
That year, I was promoted too. My career was moving forward, even while I was still rebuilding parts of myself.
Reiki stayed there, an experience I'd had without knowing it would come back into my story a few years later.
This was a year of processing and integrating everything that had changed up to that point — of noticing how much more my life felt like mine, and how much I had learned to stand on my own two feet.
It was also my most productive year in technology.
I felt good, confident, and much more capable of handling the everyday challenges of my routine. At the time, I genuinely believed that, by keeping my chakras aligned and energy care part of my life, I could keep going comfortably in technology for another 20 years.
By then, between training and hands-on practice over the previous years, I had accumulated more than 400 hours dedicated to Integrative Practices and energy work — all while continuing my regular career in technology.
It was a year of deep reconnection with the will to live fully.
I had no idea that this same feeling of being whole would completely change my plans the following year.
I started the year believing it would be my best year yet in technology.
Everything seemed to point that way.
The year before had been my most productive one. I had grown professionally and had finally found a much healthier way of being in that world.
But as I became happier and more at ease with myself, I started noticing something I hadn't expected:
I wasn't happy there anymore.
There were small signs at first.
One of them came after an Energy Alignment session, when someone told me they had been sleeping better since our session.
That stayed with me.
Not long after, I received positive feedback about some screens I had worked on — the kind of feedback that once would have made me feel genuinely proud and fulfilled.
And it still mattered.
But it didn't reach me in the same way anymore.
Something in my sense of meaning had shifted.
For the first time, I began to seriously question whether the career I had spent more than 17 years building was still where I wanted to spend the next chapter of my life.
I resisted that realization for a while.
Technology had been such a significant part of my life. I had worked hard to build that career, and even harder to find a healthier way of being in it. Walking away from it wasn't an easy possibility to consider.
But eventually, I had to admit to myself what I already knew.
I hadn't failed to make that life work.
I had changed.
And being finally in a good place with myself allowed me to see that the life I had worked so hard to make work no longer felt like mine.
This kind of shift had already happened in other areas of my life since that awakening back in 2019.
I had learned to recognize when Life was calling.
And once I recognized it, I couldn't not listen.
So I followed it.
Again.
After more than 17 years in technology, I had a wonderful farewell from the last company I worked for.
Leaving didn't mean everything immediately fell into place.
After leaving tech, I went through a difficult period. My body and mind seemed to be finally asking for the space I hadn't been able to give them for a long time. For about two months, I focused on retreating, recovering, and, most importantly, not trying to figure out too quickly what would come next.
Little by little, I came back to myself.
And it was in that space — without a grand plan for the next chapter — that something already present in my life began to take on a different role.
And I began opening my sessions up to the world.
It was in this new chapter that Reiki came back into my life, intuitively.
Little by little, it took over the place in my practice that radionic charts used to hold.
Dowsing remained an essential part of my work, especially for reading and guiding each session, while Reiki became my main tool for energy harmonization.
It was from that integration — and from all these years of study, practice and personal transformation — that the way I lead my Energy Alignment sessions today was born.
I recommend them to anyone who wants to learn to look after their own energy and the energy of the people they love.
I am not affiliated with any of these courses. I share them here because I truly liked the proposal and the material, and my own experience with the practices was very positive from the beginning. And because I began to see, through practice, how learning these tools can also expand the ways we care for ourselves and for the people around us.
So, answering whether I noticed any change in my emotional pattern? Yes, it was what I mentioned above. I managed to keep my mood steady, despite many demands and tiredness, haha
But I wanted to give you some feedback: I've been able to sleep. Every now and then I still have the odd isolated bout of insomnia, like yesterday, but overall I'm sleeping really well.
But a little before you sent me the report, I felt a calm in the middle of a stressful moment that even surprised me. After you sent the report, I got to thinking...
